Fairly deep ruby in color. A nice first impression on the nose, exhibiting cherry, oak, underbrush, and flowers. On the palate, I find a medium full wine with alot of rich, ripe fruit. In addition, there is some spice, minerals, and oak rounding out this modernly styled Pinot. This finishes well, and it has a good acid backbone, but I find it a bit hot.

An ok QPR for the often unusual NZ pinot noir. Dark berry and earth with a bit of licorice on the nose. Taste is a bit like a toned down petite syrah. Lots of fleeting scents and tastes that are difficult to quantify - and yes to the soy sauce next day. Drinkable and enjoyable due to its welcomed difference from an average pinot noir.

One of the few under-$20 Pinots I've enjoyed. Pretty good varietal expression, dark cherry with a touch of earth. Very light mint in the nose. Not voluptuous, but certainly not thin like many cheap Pinot Noirs. I'd buy it again for mid-week dinners.

A cheap pinot ($14) that actually tasted like pinot.
