Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 92 points

  • Waited for 7 years to see how this one aged after tasting a twin bottle in 2003. It was still closed yet drinable back then but not the best choice to accompany the pizza we ordered. We were in Milan and I had just purchased them couple of hours ago. It is today not only the colour that has changed from dark ruby to garnet with brown highlights but all the aroma profile. Its opulent nose displays a complex bouquet of dried berry, truffles, earth, tar and leather as well as sweet spices along with meaty tones. The tannins are still there, round, soft and elegant acting in harmony with the good acidity and dried fruit notes lingering through the charming finish.
