Double decanted at 4:30, served at about 8. I found spices on the nose, but I knew to look for them. None of three blind tasters mentioned spices. A very structured wine that showed grace and class, and real complexity of fruit and mineral tones. There’s good material here but the wine needs maybe another 10 years to reveal all that it’s got. It was still uncurling itself as we had our last sips, hours later. A very good but not a great Malconsorts.

Like a lot of the 2007’s; they are approachable now. This had a 2 hour decant (good idea). Wonderful Vosne-Romanee spice (peppermint/incense) and wild berry fruits. No excessive oak. Color; a bit light (Vintage 07) and more of an “elegant style”. If you are looking for power; don’t buy 2007’s. If you are looking for elegance, terroir and drinkability; it’s there. The first time for me of Hudelot-Noellat; and I can see a lot of terroir/infused Pinot’s.

While not quite as open for business as the last bottle tried a couple of years ago, this shows beautiful aromas of clove, blood orange, dried, aged cherry with damp soil tones. With more time in the glass, there are more complex aromas of tea spices, soy sauce, coffee, mineral and smoke that add intrigue. More compressed than I remember but lots of potential. No rush on this. Fine-grained tannin and ends with the hallmark tactile spiciness of Vosne. Beautiful raw material.

The wine was so pure and aromatic with Vosne spice, red fruit, and flowers. It was expressive and sweet, and simply dancing on the palate. 93-94
