  • Drank over two evenings. Deep golden straw colour. Lively and attractive nose which took a couple of hours to unfold: nutty peach stones, lightly toasted hazelnuts, ripe bananas, tinned peaches and pears. Lovely rich and mouthcoating palate of lightly candied peaches, acacia honey and ripe bananas framed with perfectly balanced acidity and distinct minerality. Carries through into light butterscotch with a hint of creme brulee but a jarringly oak resin back end spoiled it a little for me. This is still a huge fresh wine that is still not fully integrated. It must have been Godzilla when released.

  • 1982-83-89 Bordeaux at Masa's in San Francisco: Very nice nose showing intense fruit softened by oak, very lively and expressive. In the mouth, equally intense flavors, with excellent acidity. The oak is more prominent in the mouth, so one has the impression of a fairly heavily oaked wine that is improving with age, the oak now perfectly integrated on the nose, nearly there on the palate.

  • Straw gold. Nose of candied peaches and a hint of minerals. A Chard wine with great concentration that expands on your palate. This wine should hold for at least another 3 years.
