Splash decanted 30 minutes, but needed an hour to open. Similar to my last note in a good spot and a very enjoyable mature burgundy to enjoy now as the secondaries are really showing well. A-

Quite tight in the first two hours, opening up considerably after. Tertiary developing: some mushroom, a touch of green notes. Followed by cherry on the nose. Black strawberry (?) and some spice on the palate. Long finish and clean acid, some slight lift & freshness on the ned. Got more mysterious and intriguing hours later. I can't help but wonder if this bottle isn't a great example, or if my tastes don't align with the mainline thinking here

PNP. In short, this was really nice. Nose was great out of the bottle, and it needed about 30 minutes to warm and fully open but this was showing fully mature fruit (in color and on the nose) with some scorched earth/charcoal on the palate but with nice ripe fruit to frame it. I really enjoyed this with and without food, think it is in a great spot, and may be the best bottle of this frustrating wine I have had to date. A-

Pnp perfection with a captivating and explosive layered bouquet of candied red cherries, rose petals, coffee beans and exotic spices. The palate is luxuriously silky with obvious grand cru weight and intensity and there is stunning purity and elegance to balance such power and exhilarating energy. An incredible combination. Its spice and mineral laced finale just keeps on going. One of the best CDLR’s in the biz was perfect tonight.

5 hour slowox worked well, with the wine showing mature fruit, nice secondaries on the nose, elegant finish of minerals. Nice wine, but for me continues to be short of some of the praise in the reviews. A-
