Texas Wine School, Kings of Italy Class. Decanted for an hour and half. A prototypical Chianti Classico, this Riserva garnered a 3 Bicchieri from GR. 100% Sangiovese. The nose is clean, with red fruit and cedar. The 11 months in French barrique give it a little more more complexity than a regular bottling. The palate is very dry, with medium (+) to high acidity, medium tannins and medium alcohol (13.5%). It is still drinking well and probably has a year or two left. Still, IMHO, even these finer CC Riserva and Gran Selezione don't really stand up to a Brunello.
