A Trottertastic Saturday (Les 2 Garçons): Magnum. An attractively deep amber that spoke of evolution, but there was no trace of oxidation. Lush, intense nose, with hints of menthol and biscuit. Creamy and herbal on the palate, with super mouthfeel and depth of flavour, and good length too. I love this style of wine when the bottle is 'on' - a real treat.

Deep golden color. The last bottle and still amazingly good. Very tight cork, and wine was in a great condition. Harmonious nose, faint white florals with a beeswax finish. Round and waxy palate with floral taste. However, when we started drinking this with a sole meunier, the wine was transformed and stone fruits became more evident. A perfect wine and food pairing. Glad this last bottle was still so good - i was a bit worried it would be off.

Another great bottle from my case. Medium golden yellow. Smelled like lychee, lemon and wax. Unique wine. Needs decanting. Cloves and menthol appeared with aeration, along with green apple, and orange blossom. Reminiscent in some ways of an old Savenniere.

This has turned into such a mediocre wine.
