Ed & Sam to dinner (Home): Mid ruby, very similar to the straight village alongside, but just a little brighter, a touch more luminosity. Similar nose too, mid-red fruit, a touch or earth, but also a finer sense of minerality that follows through to the palate. Again, very similar to the Gevrey VV, but there’s just a touch more depth, precision and line here that would be easy to overlook given its immediate charm. A filigree elegance that wasn’t immediately apparent in previous bottles, this is far more Goulots. ****

Mid ruby, reasonably dense. Maturing nicely with some wet leaf sous bois, a hint of caramel and nicely gamey mid to dark red fruit. A sense of richness without losing the mineral line that weaves through the density. Lovely. ****

Yea and strawberry. Plush palate although became a little more astringent. Dry, mildly tannic finish. Better earlier in the evening

Educating the Youngsters (67 Pall Mall, London): Sappy and mellow, very attractive, but not as wowee as Fourrier can be.
