-- decanted immediately before first taste -- -- tasted non-blind over a couple hours --
NOSE: smells aged --- stony and minty; hint of pizzelle; flowers that are just starting to rot; medium+ expressiveness.
BODY: some bricking throughout; medium-light bodied; some sediment present.
TASTE: good acidity; dark red fruits; hint of cedar; delicate; alc. not noticeable; thinning out; no tannins; probably a bit on the downside, or at the end of its prime window. gut impression score: 90. Drink Now.

Garnet with bricking. Nose of rose hips, earth, leather, black fruits. Balanced and nuanced wine with everything in place: sweet, textured, elegant berry and tart cherry fruit counterpointed by rounded-off tannins, lower acidity, and long, feathery finish of soft red fruit and some grip. Great with pizza smothered with chanterelles.

Garnet color. Nose was open from the time of uncorking, and gave off smells of leather, red berries, and Indian spices. Linear and medium-bodied, with lots of dried cherries, dusty tannins, and moderate grip at the end. Harmonious finish. Really came to life with food. A more elegant Brunello.

2/26/2016 - mikeywines Likes this wine: 92 Points
Spice box aromas with sour cherry, cinnamon and dried flowers flavors and a medium finish. Still drinking nicely with good balance and complexity
