What a difference a bottle (and two years) makes. Cloudy, opaque dark pink. Bright red cherry, but with an off-putting sappy, "natural wine" earthiness. Almost no tannin, but plenty of acid that is not balanced by the fading fruit. Past its prime by quite a bit, and not at all enjoyable. The bottle was in good condition. It seems that all of the (simple, but unbridled) joy of this wine occurs early.

Light and delicate, but very well balanced and not too tart. Primarily red cranberry type fruits with a faint background of spicy forest floor and brothy flavors that serve to just keep the profile within the realm of what I have come to associate with Gevrey-Chambertin. A really nice wine representing the lighter side of the spectrum when it comes to village level Gevrey-Chambertin. Much better than a bottle 2 years ago. Drinking really well.

Winter 2013 Wine Parties: A very typical 2007, which give pleasure in a subtle way. Pale in color, this has an aromatic nose of cherry with accents of fresh-turned earth. The pure and precise palate highlights more cherry and earth, with a grippy tannic structure and a lengthy concentrated finish
