Mega-Slide! (Waterford Wine Co. Tasting Room): Somewhat of a muted nose. Tim says ripe red apples, and I have to agree. Still a touch thick on the palate. Acidity is still fairly strong. Candy, butterscotch flavors. Alcohol soaked peaches. Spicy white pepper finish. First aged Gruner for me, and I liked it. Still quite vibrant and alive.

The nose is like sherry...dense with knock-you-over richness. The palate is viscous with some black licorice coming out...can't pick out more because it's just trying to clobber me over the head and I'm running for safety.
Ben says it would pair with scallops with green curry...
Sorry, but this is a 'hell-no' for me.

Gruner Veltliner Tasting (Waterford Wines Milwaukee): over the hill grapey nose. very aromatic. waxy. bees wax. anise lift to the nose and some sweet candy. on the palate. weighty, old fruit, spicy, tannic extract. interesting to say the least.

Evergreen and lychees. And yes, I have actually eaten lychees. Vibrant, youthful, but still just a bit too sweet for me to pound.
