Threw this in the cellar just for the heck of it. Still a very healthy dark ruby/purple color. Beautiful nose of sweet, ripe purple fruit, a little heat and fresh flowers. Still medium-full bodied and LOADED with ultra ripe, but pure black and purple fruits. Silky-smooth tannin, this has changed very little over the years, except that the oak is completely integrated. Shows the typical Paul Hobbs profile of smooth tannin and sweet fruit. 90

I moved away from COBOS wines a while ago,and thought that so had my taste for this, but this turned out to be a very good surprise..At first it felt as it had been opened the day before, very dark fruit,in a ripasso kind of way.As it evolved nicely in the glass,it beefed up a lot, became full bodied and well balanced.Go ahead and decant it,as it has loads of sediment.

I was hoping for a bit out more out of this wine. I don’t see any major issues; I just don’t see anything outstanding. This wine is pretty much a common value Argentinian Cab in flavors and style. It’s a bit on the astringent side with greenish flavored fruit. There is a fair amount of oak and a nice dry finish.

I pull the wine off the rack, pop the cork and take a sniff. The nose is loaded with cassis, blackberry, spice and cocoa powder ... the palate is white pepper and spice before it brings out the rich fruit flavours of blackberry, black currant and black raspberry, following it up with some cinnamon and a dollop of chocolate. Now that hits the spot. Sorry about the Riesling mix-up dear, I don't know what came over me.
