fill level is 2-3cm below cork which is good for 20+ years old Burgundy; no decant; medium garnet core, medium pale garnet rim. Forest floor, earthy, mushroom and leather on nose, lots of red fruits on the palette, medium body, still high acidity, resolved soft and silky tannin, medium to long finish. Later it evolved meaty and gamey nose, red fruits were more expressed on the palette. Jean-Marie Fourrier used 100% destemmed grapes and 20% new oak on all his wines. Vines were planted in 1928 for la Combe aux Moines. Would definitely love to taste his Clos St-Jacques in the future! 93pts

Initially a gamey nose evolving with air to cool, mature Pinot fruit, smoke, and slate. Medium-light body, soft almost non-existent tannins, bright acidity. Finish of moderate length.

Beautiful bottle in great condition. Slightly richer than last bottles on the midpalate and tannins a little less resolved. I think will let the rest of my case sleep a while and return in a couple of years.

A fantastic bottle - so fresh and pure. Very much in line with the other 2 bottles we have had. Benchmark stuff at this house! Not as gamey or earthy but the fruit was so elegant, clean and long. Slight aromas of roasted meats in the background. Fruit soars on the palate and good crisp acidity on the finish. I reckon this has plenty of life left and could be help for many years to come.

Cork fully soaked through, this lacked intensity on the nose and depth and length on the palate, with a short, firm finish.
