  Medium crimson color. Expressive, very tertiary nose of potpourri, violets, limestone, varnish, and charcoal. The fruit has mostly faded from the palate, with the exception of some faint blackberry flavors. This has a mildly mineralic tone throughout the mouth and the finish. For a vintage with an early-drinking reputation, and for an appellation with more of a reputation for value than quality, it is amazing that this wine has held on as long as it has! Consume immediately.
