Way too young so difficult to enjoy this moment. I bought it online at the current (high price) for an occassion. The future potential was there, yet the high alcohol, tannins, acidity and fruit at this precise moment were all too much. Distracting. Easy enough to judge though that for a person with patience, this is a quality wine to enjoy at least six years in the future.

This was pretty good, but maybe a little too heavy handed in its approach for Barbaresco in my opinion. The fruit seemed very forward and the acidity lower than I expected. Vaguely reminiscent traces of balsamico notes on the palate and a very nice plum and blackberry fruit profile. Maybe a touch too voluptuous for me in the execution. That said, still a very nice wine, but one I would pair completely differently with food next time. This one really needs some beef to stand up to it rather than the fowl I chose to pair it with.

nose: very perfumed nose right off the bat with beautiful tones of tar, rose petals, various red florals, red cherries, roasted herbs and a touch of berries. Lush with great depth and a real lovely feminine style on the nose
taste: Smooth and very balanced with medium/high acidity and good tannins along with pretty tones of berries, red cherries, roasted herbs and a touch of florals on the end
overall: beautiful and really starting to drink. I decanted this for about an hour and a half before recorking it and drinking it a few hours later. This was a lovely wine that seems like it can go a good ways longer as well

Remarkably young nose on this wine. Dark berries, touch of tobacco and tar. Has a hint of orange peel spice that comes and goes, but totally fascinates. On the palate, the bright acidity is surprising. The black raspberry flavors are so fresh and juicy. The tannins still have a youthful grip to them, but are integrated well, making this wine completely approachable. Has notes of anise and the lightest hints of thyme. Very, long finish of tobacco and spice. Is screaming for a plate of wild boar ravioli.

(Sottimano Barbaresco Currį) Dark red violet color with pale meniscus; expressive berry, blackberry, vanilla, chocolate, licorice and dried berry nose; tasty but tight, ripe, cherry, berry palate with firm tannins; medium-plus finish (group's WOTF)
