Fc St.Pauli Football ICE-outwardstourtasting to Aachen: Very dark color, nearly black, the nose spicy, on the palate very smooth, balanced, long, but I´m afraid: a bit boaring, I think this bottle is over its peak!

Drinking great from magnum with a few hours breathing in opened bottle. Dark ripe fruit, licorice, spices, dark chocolate, good acidity, great balance, not too sweet, excellent with food.

Superb! Still quite dark showing a slight hue change at the rim. We popped and poured this and took small tastes over the course of 2 hrs. It was showing nice aromas of blackberry spice initially, but with time more developed nuances were evident: grilled meats, iodine, white pepper, some garrigue. Tastes like it smelled with plenty of fruit, some softening tannins and acidity still keeping this lively. The texture is really nice, sorta of creamy and rich without being overbearing in the slightest. I doubt this wine will continue to develop much more but it will easily last another 5-10 years. This is old vine Syrah with small amounts of Grenache & Mourvdre. A Jeffrey Davis selection. $12.99.

This bottle was rockin'! Still pretty tannic at first but with about 2 hours of air, the fruit really shines. Saved about 5oz for the next day and it's even better! Dark, almost jammy fruit but a nice winey texture. Not especially complex but some good depth. A little heady and a medium length, slight bitter finish, but tannins are fully integrated now. Pretty good wine, especially for $15!

Quite the interesting wine. Brawny but smooth. Full bodied but juicy. Black cherry and anise on the nose carry through to the palate. A great match for hearty fare, but thought-provoking on its own. The wood and tannins are much more integrated than they were a few years back. Wonderful balance. Just entering into its prime drinking window, but hard to resist now. A QPR no-brainer in almost every vintage.
