To put it into context for Pinot Noir, for the same price you could get a generic New Zealand wine that has no character and sweet fruit. Decent enough on a Sunday with roast chicken.   Pale, wan, and featureless to start with. Over dinner, the cherry fruit deepened and a penetrating cherry methol perfume developed and it ended up very attractive.
