Had this with my new zalto burgundy stems I got for my birthday. This wine was singing!!! Sous bois on the nose, flavors of earth fruit and acid in lovely balance and a long finish. Freaking awesome

Nose of red cherry, raspberry, some barnyard, minerals, and roasted meat, more of the same on the palate, good acid, medium body, at it's best so time to drink up, tasty, trifle subdued on the mid palate, touch simple, mouth filling fruit, tasty with the meaty pizza, long, long finish, very good but not great.

At a birthday celebration at Baroque. En Magnum. Now, this was a tricky one, as the red companion to the Double Mag Haut Brion 94 drank alongside. Surprisingly, this wine held up well against the competition. I would put it down to the vintage as well as the maker's style. Medium red, lovely appearance. Nose was intense, with more red fruits, sweet cherries, raspberries and wild strawberries. Pure and elegant. The palate had decent structure, and was very balanced, with sweet round tannins as well as a good amount of acidity and minerality. It was slightly Bordeaux like, but nothing too overripe or extracted. The finish was certainly comparable to the HB, but over 3 hours, the wine slowly faded, with lots of tea leaves and herbs. Fresh pours always did the trick, but in the glass, the wine became flabby and weak. Nonetheless, a really good wine.
