Perfumed and delicious with real verve and vibrancy and one senses just really entering a terrific phase of drinking. There’s plenty of freshly tilled earth along with gently composting leaves to the aroma. It is a little angular in the mouth but the fruit has a delightful sweet quality tempered by some more savoury elements. There are notes of wild sage and juniper and I often find a hint of curry leaf in aged red Burg of which this also possesses. A whip of tart cranberry cleans up the finish. Quite triumphant with simply roasted duck.
