This wine took quite a while to settle down. Did a slow decant from the bottle. The color did not give away the age at 15 years. No bricking. Consistent dark ruby color. After evaluating color and nose, the first three sips told me to let the two glasses sit for 3 hours.
Solid and mild on the nose. It was barn, old leather, damp basement. The attack was cool with mild tannin that gripped just a little, and low acidity. There was still some dark red fruit, more than I expected, but also unpleasant bitter and sour notes. The finish was mildly tannic. It wasn’t pleasant. After a glass I decided to put it away for a night.
Day 2 was much better. Same nose, but the unpleasant notes were gone. The fruit had faded and more pleasant secondary characteristics emerged. Mildly tannic finish.
Still some life left, but drink now or soon. For the 200 bottles you all still have out there...I’d suggest a very long decant, or save for day 2.

Opened up a little funky on the nose. No structure left and seems like it never had much acidity. Pleasant enough in an aged, soft Cabernet way. Just don't get your hopes up for greatness.

I agree with the comments from Sirwine from 1/2018 - this wine has indeed held up exceptionally well, and I'd even dare say it has a few years left in it. Just an all around classic, full bodied, well-aged cabernet through and through! I'll go one point higher and give it a solid 92. One of the best bottles I've opened in a while!

This wine held up exceptionally well. It was well integrated but still ful and vibrant with enough tannin to give it some backbone. The fruit was muted and more like blueberries and cassis. No brinking around he edges. A beautiful wine.

Still outstanding. Have read that it may be reaching the end of its time but it has at least 3 years left. Velvety chocolate nose. Big wine. Leathery finish with some black pepper. Love this wine.
