Cherry, sous bois, licorice, vanilla, burnt caramel; smooth, elegant, diffuse, evasive, reasonable fruit remaining, slightly effervescent, long but mildly scattered finish, extended; aged, but excellent, delicious After One Hour: Nose and palate similar to before, but each thicker, more integrated, more fruitful, but somewhat more monolithic; still balanced and very pleasing

Nice red color with no brown rims. Elegant nose of dark cherry and some plum on the nose - certainly GC level. The palate shows medium body, tastes older than its age but elegant and graceful. Lacks GC power but offers nice dark and red fruit and great acidity that makes it a great food wine and a joy. Yes you can argue the Grand Cru quality here. i really liked it and will try to get more of these. 90

Quite fresh and a little shy on the aromatics at first. With air some smoked meats and cassis fruit appears. There are notes of dried flowers and earth as well. It has a heart of black cherry and flavours have a real savoury edge. It is nicely proportioned and balanced and there's plenty of minerally acidity to the finish.

Blind tasting of two Red Burgundy with Mike, first place. Gamey nose with hints of cinnamon and strawberry, more of the same on the palate, faded over the evening but more exotic tasting than the other.
