  • Loved this wine. Very complex. Maybe it held better due to the larger size bottle. Drink now.

  • Decanted but little time to breathe. The closure is natural but in good condition (soft & flexible). The colour is bright, thin red. The nose is aromatically fruity. The taste is at first not quite as rich as the nose had me anticipate, but is still quite good. There is a tartness that is not excessive. There is some complexity. Not the best Oregon Pinot Noir, but not bad for $13 per half bottle. Good (81.5).

    Per back label:
Nose of cherry & cedar, medium bodied, tastes of dried cherries & spice. Can be cellared up to 10 years. Pairs with duck, wild mushrooms & black beans. 494 cases bottled in September 2002 after 10 months in neutral French oak (no new oak used). Total acidity 6.3 g/L, pH 3.46. Grapes from northern Willamette valley, Oregon's premier Pinot noir region. Vineyard profile: 50% Crannell, Amity; 32% Amity, Amity; and 18% Schouten, Sheridan. The winery is a family operation located 45 miles SW of Portland above the village of Amity. Abv 13.5%. www.amityvineyards.com.
