Bright, burnished gold; vivacious nose, initial vanilla custard notes, then that preciseness of classic Riesling, clean (no kerosene); mid-weight, vibrant vitality, poised; extended finish, at its peak. Will hold effortlessly, for 5+ years.

Quite a developed yellow colour. An almost overpowering smell of petrol/kerosene which lingers - it didn't blow off like I'd hoped. Underneath there's lemon, limes, honey, toast and lanolin. Fairly broad for a Wigan. Seems overly developed and on its way down hill. Lacks that great minerality some rieslings - including older rieslings - have.
Certainly, I have preferred the 2001, 2002 and 2003 Peter Lehmann Reserve/Wigan riesling vintages to this.

Remains pale; limes, lemon blancmange; bone dry, vibrant, chalky; zesty brilliance. Will age effortlessly.
