  • Decanted. Cloudy with mud left in bottle. Smells of RC cola, sour cherries, and crushed fresh herb, maybe menthol. Slight sweetness and building intensity on palate. Medium finish.

  • Pretty close to the bottle I annotated last year. Very plummy, chewy, rich, port-like in a way. Time to drink up.

  • This is a lovely sweet Amarone. Despite its appealing sweetness, it does not come across as a "big" wine. It shows more table wine character than many of the large-scaled Amarone wines out there. I like this very much. Drinking wonderfully well right now. We thought this might pair well with simple Italian tomato-based pasta dished like lasagna or spaghetti with meatballs. We had this one without food towards the end of the night and it was quite enjoyable that way too.

  • Cloudy dark red, unfiltered looking. Nose is very big with sour cherries, green grass [!], and an alcoholic note making one think in a blind tasting that it might be a kind of port, except for all the corvina fruit that is evident. Palate is plummy, chewy, rich -- and has more of a tang than the last bottle. A significant tannic statement, but overall a classic Meditazione amarone. Will place the remaining bottles down for another year, because this year is definitely not the end date.

  • Cloudy ruby red, as if it were unfiltered. Nose is very big with sour cherries, menthol, definite alcoholic note making one think in a blind tasting that it might be a kind of port, except for all the fruit that is evident. Palate is plummy, chewy, rich, smooth. Good balance with a hit of acid that moves into a significant tannic statement, but that works with the power of this wine and makes taste-sense. Really lingers.
