Drinking beautifully now. Dense tar, ripe, dusty cherries, dried fruit, menthol, leather and roses; long finish with fine grained tannins. Some oak, but well integrated. Nice acidity. Good upon opening, but better with a 3 hour decant.

Brought this home from a visit to the winery. A bit of fine sediment, but nothing to worry about at this point if you stand it up for a few hours then decant. Hit its stride after about 3-4 hours of air, and went great with rosemary veal chop.

Excellent single vineyard barolo. At 18 years still retains a deep cherry color with minimal bricking. Smooth with a long aftertaste. While drinking very well now could probably last a few more years. Was a hit at our English dinner get-together among some good wines.

Drank a while ago so I don't remember specifics, but I do recall enjoying this very much. Excellent bottle of mature barolo.
