Comes off a bit flabby as the acid backbone is lacking. White peach, asian pear, and pineapple fruit with a hint of honey and floral notes. Acceptable at $13 but uninspiring.

Monchhof wines were a lot of my first Rieslings, so I will always have a special place in my heart for the producer. This is pretty typical Monchhof - ripe with good sweetness. White sweet fruits and some flowers on the palate. Doesn't quite have the precision and minerality of the best Mosels but at less than $15 a very solid value. I followed it over 3 nights and was best on the last sip.

Light gold colour, watery gold rim. Fragrant Riesling nose, soft, flowery with some apple fruit. Slightly sweet, apple, sweet orange, with a long apple, orange and tangerine finish. Nicely balanced by acidity, not gripping, but well done. The finish lasts for ages. Lovely apertif.

Garagiste purchase. Rich and quite ripe. Smells mineral and reduced with the fruit more in the background. On the palate there is still a tiny bit of CO2 which I found strange on a wine that has been in bottle 5 years. Palate is quite sweet and very ripe on the attack for Mosel Spat. It lacks the nervous energy and focus of the best producers. It is a bit big and clunky.

- Yellow color with slow forming legs and aromas of kerosene, lemon, honey and orange blossom. It's unbalanced and has flavours of grapefruit, pineapple and honey with a light body. Flabby texture with a medium finish.
