This was an ex-chateau bottle imported by Envoyer. It had a clean capsule but quite a bit of cellar plaque on the cork. Removed in 1 piece with the Durand, I took a taste and poured into small glass jars for blinding.
The wine was rustic and unmistakably L bank bordeaux. It had the old library note, fading plum and red strawberry fruit with fresh acidity. Fully resolved. Not too much sediment either.
Stand it up for a week, well kept bottles are past prime but remain wholesome and enjoyable.

A bit tired and resolved, but gained energy and depth through the evening. Quite a bit of bricking. Tertiary dried fruits with a plum resolved palate. Finish a bit clipped and metallic, but with a nice leafy tobacco note. On the downward slope but still alive. Nice wine.

Was beautiful right out the gate. Old, herbal, medicinal, funky, peppery Bordeaux. Everything I want from this region. For me, this is at its peak, but could easily see some people not liking it.

Lovely chestnut garnet colored
Some smoky gamey aromas
Fairly plush with a slightly hard finish.
Still quite alive.

value!
this is a great producer, they make terrific Graves white as well which also ages quite nicely.
nose: graphite, iron, tart cherry, wet metal.
palate: bitter plum jelly, balanced with great concentration. just picture perfect aged bordeaux.
at $30 ill just buy all this.
