Not sure I see what all the fuss is about (given the high proces of more recent vintages. Serviceable but not special and doesn't feel very typically Pomerol to me
Based on the previous (scathing) notes, I was expecting a total dud. This was very enjoyable and, while perhaps more advanced than other 2005s, is drinking very well. It exhibits fresh fruit and is starting to take on tertiary notes. Enjoyable now and over the next ~5 years.

This was one of the very worst Bordeaux wines I've ever had. I didn't detect it as defective per-se, but really just poorly made or poor quality grapes. Whatever the reason, I recommend avoiding this wine at all costs. Don't let the great vintage and supposedly-great producer fool you; I find it hard to believe how this vineyard produced what is likely very high quality wine in '09, '10 and afterwards, but whatever they did in '05 is baffling. I believe the wine-maker was someone different then. In any case. I was very disappointed to find even find this offered for sale by BestWinesOnline when if they had tasted it they surely would have known that the wine is a 'lemon'. This wine should never have been put on sale; it's beyond atrocious. Note, just in case I'm not being clear; this is not a wine you drink - it's a wine that you inflict on yourself and others, it's that bad.
Herbaceous aroma, medium palate, some sweet fruit amongst the twangy tannin. Expected more from the vintage and proximity to Le Pin. Maybe potential for development, shall leave the remaining bottles to rest.

The flavor profile was more mature than expected for a 2005. Soft.
