Very light in colour. Slate and a certain smokiness on the nose. Feminine in style. No more formal notes taken but enjoyable without being exceptional.

Very distinctive nose that's very different from the rest of the Burguet range being shown today - a lot of finely crushed slate on the nose; this quality, reflective of the terroir, is what led Mr. Burguet to start vinifying this wine separately starting in 1993 (according to Mme. Tard-Roux, his wife). Palate is quite a bit more concentrated than the other wines in the range, deep and dark with pleasing fruit and some spice. Quite nice, for this vintage. 89-90+?
On a separate note, I don't remember sensing the special slatey nose on the bottle of '98 Champeaux that I had last year, but will look for it in the future.

Very light in colour, confused by this and thought it might be faulty but the nose was wonderful, best to drink now
