  • Lone bottle, opened an hour, perfect cork and level - brown rimmed darkish, slightly transparent ruby; cherry, earth, smoke/ash, reasonably complex if spoiled by herbaceous notes; medium, lacks concentration, tails off on exit, bit pinched, expected more from vintage, no upside, drink. VG (16).

  • Casual theme: Opened six hours before dinner. Much more typical than the Chapoutier, almost everyone got to northern Rhone on this. Such a staunchly traditionalist wine to the point of being agricultural, old school winemaking that someone quite accurately described as straight from soil to glass. Fading fruit, best to drink up.

Meget god lengde.

  • Ruby red. Aromas dominated by barnyard and stable aromas (brett?). Still some nice and elegant fruit. Soft, tender and elegant mouth feeling. Maybe a bit over the top.
