Tasted blind. Red fruit, pepper, herbs, mushrooms, and dust on the nose. Medium+ acidity with tart berries and a bit more of the dusty flavors on the palate. Medium finish. A good wine and really interesting to try, but this seems to be on the decline.

Wow! for 23 year old wine we hoped for the best and expected the worst. opened for 1/2 hour then poured. opted not to decant- worried that wine would flatten. Old sock nose no surprise but strong black pepper and stewed cherry. none left is which always a sign of good wine.

LOTS OF DEEP FRUIT, CIGAR BOX, AND LICORICE IN THE NOSE. BLACKBERRIES AND CHERRIES IN THE FLAVOR. MEDIUM TO LONG FINISH.
