  • Drank with deep dish pizza, and while doing some work around the house - nice and refreshing on a warm summer night. Aroma of green apple. Taste has lychee and green apple flavors - not too sweet. This is one of the better white wines I have had a while, with a nice mix of creaminess and tartness.

  • Granny smith apple & pineapple on the nose. They both come through in the taste as well, along with a hint of peach. Tasted this at the winery last summer and bought some based on it, but this is just way too tart for me.

  • Crisp, acidic bite. Less fruit then last year's, which had such nice peach flavors. Pair this with seafood with an acidic or lemon based sauce. We enjoyed it with trout with a vinagrette caper sauce.

  • TN (tank sample, in cold stabilization) Left Foot Charley Pinot Blanc Island View Vineyard (one of Werner's properties).

Very pale color with a glint of yellow-green; has fallen quite bright by this time. Sample is very cold, and so I've been giving it much time to warm and open in the glass.

Old mission-typical kraft paper, redcurrant, spring flowers, a sour fermentation odor that quickly blows off, resin, apple blossom, earth.

Dry with very crisp but not overwhelming acids. Like a mixture of winesap and transparent apple juices; long, clean, brisk finish. Hits on all cylinders and will be a fine lighter-style wine, very much in the style of the 2008. An acid lover's dream at this stage, but will soften a bit yet. 88-91/100.
