Good, but not exactly my favorite style. Tropical fruit, vanilla, oak. Surprisingly, nose is only medium minus in intensity. The palate is dry. The acidity is medium minus and not really sufficient to balance the wine's heft. Alcohol is medium to medium plus at 14%. Body is medium plus to full. Flavor intensity and length are medium, with an oily, buttery finish. This is not an oaky fruit bomb, but it not crisp, refreshing and palate-cleansing, which are things that I look for in a white. Drink now. It could probably tolerate some more bottle age, but I don't think it will improve.

Lighter color in the glass tells you that this wine has not seen excessive oak; flavors of pear and melon on the nose. No butter or popcorn flavors here - just nice acidity with a slightly creamy finish. Quintiessential food wine.

This was the best Chard from Monticello we have had. Nicely balanced and perfect with an entree salad fruited salad with pear and blue cheese and currants and warm grilled chicken with balsamic vinaigrette.
