Elegant and refined for a port, showing pretty red fruit sweetness with a lighter somewhat delicate texture that is silky. This is giving and quite tasty. Not super complex, but so good from start to finish and surprisingly easy to drink. Coming back to this weeks later after being refrigerated cold and it remains in a great place.

From a suspect bottle (same as cos65). Wow! Impressive wine for its stron firm nose of floral notes but with alcoholic power underneath. There’s a lot of heat here—but only the complexity that time can deliver. Wow! Fantastic sample.

Cork and wax seal seemingly intact, but only about 200mL wine left in this 750 bottle. Cork did not budge and crumbled Clear pale garnet liquid Sweet alcoholic kirsch flavors, really quite a nice drink. Alcohol very noticeable, but doesn’t necessarily detract if treated more like an aperitif.

The Los Angeles Tasting (Los Angeles, CA): Pop and pour. Some woody notes with vanilla and a touch of red fruit on the nose. Milk chocolate and balanced tannins on the palate. Lush mouthfeel with a touch of spice. Bright acidity on the very long finish.

(Cockburn Porto Vintage) Bricked medium brown red color with ruby lights; very appealing, pretty, raspberry syrup, blackberry jam, strawberry preserves, light sweet coffee, VA nose that adds tobacco notes after 30 minutes in the glass; delicious, unctuous, rounded, mature, sweet coffee, dried cherry, strawberry jam palate; should go 15+ plus years; long finish
(Cockburn Porto Vintage) Light medium brownish red color; French vanilla and cocoa bean nose; chocolaty, rich, vanilla bean and cherry, beautifully mature; long finish
(Cockburn Porto Vintage) Lovely pink orange color; big framboise, cream and roses nose; big, round, fully mature, roses, framboise, cherry palate that still has plenty of zip and interest; long finish

MAGNUM Vintage Port (CUT restaurant Beverly Hills): Out of magnum. Tasting of (4) ‘55’s. Syrupy, tasting plastered the palate, marshmallow and caramel. 1955 had 26 port houses declared the vintage.
