  • Mur.
    Excellent!

  • Last bottle. Perfect cork. Pnp. Very deep ruby red with a little bricking. Mature nose of luscious plump red berries, sour cherry, earth, leather, lots of leather, and even a touch of iron. Silky smooth entry. The fruit is starting to dry out a little bit on the palate. But has good weight and balance with a dry finish. Dried red and black berries, leather, stone dust and chalky tannins. Still nice and juicy though. Clearly we'll made and this has been well stored since release but time to drink up. Not disappointed that this is the last one. Caught it while it was just starting to fade. 89 points

Elegant balanced delicious. In an excellent spot. Drink it now in the zone.

  • A bit on the backward side for me. I wish there was less new world, and more old world. The oak was a bit much to me. Felt like a little too much makeup for such a naturally rich wine. Interesting to taste. If the oak were backed off, I'd say it would remind me of a high producer St. Emilion in style.

  • In magnum. Pristine cork after all these years. Decanted off quite a bit of sediment. Full, deep ruby red with a fair amount of sediment. Lovely nose of black currant, plum, blackberry, graphite, licorice, ink, and a slight amount of black currant leaf. Really quite spectacular on the nose! Medium full bodied, tangy acidity, no tannins to speak of and a tapering fine finish that is nicely dry. Similar flavours as the nose. Really nicely balanced between the fruit and acid. Just perfect with food, especially BBQ steak and Tuscan white beans with rosemary. So happy this lasted and performed. Not too surprising since 2007 was one of the better vintages.
