-- decanted approx. 1 hr. before initial taste -- -- tasted non-blind over 1.5 - 2 hrs on Day 1; revisited on Day 4 --
NOSE: Day 1: ripe purple fruits; medium oak; cedar; expressive. Day 4: still expressive; savory; leather; high-toned ripe purple fruits, and a touch smoky.
BODY: medium-full to full bodied; some fine sediment present; violet-tinged dark ruby color of medium-deep to deep depth.
TASTE: Day1: dark red/purple fruits; high acidity is juicy; tiny hint of leather; not much tannins; very nice. Day 4: still drinking well today. Drink Now or Hold.

Popped and poured at cellar temp. Still very dark brooding purple color. Meaty bacon, licorice and dusty earth on the nose. Nice cool blackberry fruit on the palate, a little reserved rather than exuberant with nice texture and balancing acidity. Tannins fully resolved. Making a hearty Mediterranean beef stew and this should be a great pairing.

Open nose and layered palate with delicious fruit, earth, and spice notes evolving over time with refreshing acidity on a long finish.

Annual Wine Group Summer Event - BBQ Brisket at Siggy's (Siggy & Jenny's Place, Mpls, MN): Small tasting pour. Brief note; you know, I always find these very enjoyable and well made. These are classic old school, cool climate syrahs that offer oodles of old world character and style, so earthy and meaty with red fruits and medium plus body.
