Medium deep black cherry red - nice Napa nose, red and black fruits - nice palate, a bit on the smoky side, the Cab Franc really stands out, or the CS is just showing the effects of the poor vintage, or both - in any case, I like it, tastes Chilean - mature and smooth, decent depth and breadth and not a bad finish - I feel fully vindicated having left this 10 yrs to mature and evolve. Ready to go.

Consumed over 2 days, note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, cinnamon spice, pomegranate, black cherry, and rock candy. Palate: Medium bodied, earthiness, tobacco, somewhat gritty mouth-feel, spice and dark red fruit - though the fruit was fading quickly on day 2. Finish: Medium length dominated by pomegranate, spice, and earthiness. While still quite interesting on day 2 I would say this performed better on day 1 where the fruit was a little more dominate. Would definitely say this wine is in the back-end of it's prime right now.

Still full, with plenty of fruit in the palate, chocolate notes and an extended finish.

Some [good] funk on the nose (A-). Smooth, fruit forward palate (B++)
