Decanted 3 hours. This shows dark fruit, with very nice balance for a 2003. At 4 hours the tannins start to show just a bit more but not too distracting. Seems to be close to a window but will age a long time. It wasn't the best of conditions for tasting but I agree with some other comments that this is a very nice wine, and doesn't show the extremes of 2003, but did not come off as a great Richebourg. A-

As others have written, this shows some depth and complexity and opened up to some broader and cooler palate notes after time in the glass. Solid wine but not a sterling grand cru

PoB - Grivot Richebourg vertical dinner (1992-2013) (Hong Kong): A nice showing for 2003. Of course not among the best tonight but they managed the inevitable ripeness well here. The wine is dense and compact, lots of tannis but not drying at the finish. Probably the best you could do in a Californian vintage like 2003.

Drunk at Arbor Restaurant Hong Kong - Ex Domaine Grivot Richebourg vertical - No sign of the jaminess you often find in '03 red Burgundy here. Surprisingly this was picked later than some of its peers, apparently Etienne waited for the rains to add moisture to the grapes. It worked. Whilst this is lighter on the finish than you would wish from a Richebourg, there is no sign of '03's excessive heat.
