At the "World is Not Enough " Wine tour in Domessargues. Blind tasted. Pop up and pour. Unspecific nose of volatile flavors as gasoline, barbie doll hairs. Mouth fresh, crunchy, balanced and mineral. Comparable to Alsace style. Very well made.

Blind tasted and guessed a 2009 Ostertag Riesling from Alsace. Gun flint, peach and diesel aromas announced a Riesling. Palate was deftly balanced between richer exotic pineapple and a fresher citrus touch. Slight CO2 on the tongue. Quite mineral for a new world Riesling and certainly the best I have from outside Europe. Immensely enjoyable!

Dark yellow, mineral nose. Nice mouth feel/viscosity and stood up reasonably well to home cooked Indian dishes (lamb popsicles recipe from Vij's, Vancouver BC). Had this with a '10 vintage at the same dinner, and the '09 was by far the better of the two wines.

Outstanding classic example of Riesling, what a treat now and has the potential to age 10 plus years at least.

Pleasant, suprisingly good, not very perfumed, and with a linear finish. Short mouth feel.
