  • Domino's Birthday Dinner (The Brentwood Restaurant & Wine Bistro, Little River, SC): Purchased by the glass off the wine list and paired with the foie course. Light color with notes of pineapple, orange marmalade and tropical fruit. Medium-bodied, with pineapple and fruit cup syrup flavors. Decent finish. Not particularly complex, but a nice match with the foie.

  • Garbage smells like grandmas basement on the nose dumped after tasting.

  • This wine shows what it really means to buy cheap Sauternes...Or most of the cheap wine for that effect unless you know what you doing. Do not take me wrong I still buy great ‘”cheap” wine but you need to know what you doing, trust the wine store owner as I call it or be really lucky. Well, this time I tested my luck in buying cheap sauternes from the store I do not know and for very little money. What did I expect for $13.00 Sauternes (375ml)? If I expected any better, I was a foul myself.
Thank God, I just tasted Chateau Caillou, 2005 before I opened Maisen Nicolas, Reserve, 2006 Sauternes….I guess I need to get to the tasting notes finally…I am avoiding because there is not much to say about this wine…
Ok…Here it is…Not much on the nose…Little honey, some fruit and flower – From the fruit I get mostly lemon…After taste is still honey – not bad. But short. Little bit of nice fruity apples in after taste…Finish is short and “undefined”. Not balanced wine at all…I will give it 78…And that is probably way too much for Sauternes…
