Festival of Phil (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of lemon, lanolin. Medium plus intensity acidity, lemon, waxy, smidge of green apple, very slight honey. Okay.

Coravin fun - Alsace, Loire and Random French (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Lemon, a touch of bay leaf and waxiness, there is an underlying savoury quality here as well as a little minerality and honey on the nose. Acid lends juiciness, touch of lemon, textured mid palate grip, waxy breadth, tangy, long, really good.

As expected travelling very well for a 13yr old. Sweet fruits early but it soon fights with some bright acid which, as it happens, does blend nicely. Oiley bitter kick which I expect will grow stronger over time. Don't be fooled by the seemingly simply sweet fruits very early - this wine is a classic style - and I think will score higher points in time.

Wine Ark Boys supps (Bistro Felix, Ash Street): Aromas of lemon, honey, almost apricot - hmm, I wonder if there was a little Botrytis here? And a touch of lanolin as well. In the mouth it is fresh with the impression of sweetness from the still vibrant fruit though the wine finished bone dry…on it's journey but lovely.

Stars of the Loire (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): A little gamey, lanolin, honey, very slight cork taint and lacks fruit on the nose. Juicy, mouth watering acidity, more fruity on the palate with still with a tiny touch of cork. Not flawed yet but on the way.
