WSET2 Course Notes; 10/22/2023-11/5/2023 (WineHouse, Los Angeles): Appearance: medium salmon (pink-orange). Nose: Medium- intensity. Grape soda, artificial strawberry, watermelon jolly ranchers. Being generous, a touch of rose. Palate: Medium sweetness. Medium acidity, low alcohol, medium- body and intensity. Grape juice. Short finish. Fun one to try at the course, for sure. And not insufferable at all. 6/18. Acceptable.

I am starting to regret these blindfolded inexpensive wine tastings. Put in front of me was a glass that smelled like a cherry jolly rancher with hints of lychee. Thick bodied, syrupy, no acidity. Tasted like a watered down cherry jolly rancher. I think this is a sweet red wine. Lips become very sticky after a few sips.
Blindfold comes off, and it’s the color of a watermelon jolly rancher. I have no idea what this is, nor do I want to know. Does it even matter, my guess is it is a White Zin ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Reveal: Yet another Beringer wine, today’s flavor is White Zinfandel. I can’t come to saying varietal when there is little to no characteristics here. 8% ABV explains the sweetness. If this is ‘lifted by a touch of sweetness’, as proclaimed on the label, I hate to know what a semi-sweet wine is like from them. Ironically, I find this better than the White Merlot that was forced upon me yesterday. The simpler palate makes it easier to tolerate how sweet this is to me.

Orange pink colour.
Taste of strawberry, watermelon. Medium sweet (a bit too sweet for a rosé). Low alcohol. High acidity.
