It's possible this was flawed in some way but it was just borderline undrinkable to me. Good acidity but weird aftertastes. Possibly some sort of old bacteria taint. Got a few random good sips with food and the perfect amount of air but those were fleeting.

A bit down but not out. A well-mannered 60-yr old with polite but memorable presence. "Weathered and patina-ed wood and leather", "an old library", "a bit of smoke, flint and even peat". A whole other experience and yet another reason why wine fascinates so many!

This is a great kaleidoscopic wine of weightless concentration, depth and subtle nuanced complexity. Starting out quite savoury with flinty mineralite, charcuterie and rustic stew with time and air it becomes highly perfumed with roses and all types of floral scents, confection, red berries and truffle. Still somewhat tannic with high acidity and imposing length. Delightful.

Double decanted 10 hours prior to serving.
Dark earth, leaf litter, smoke, tar, rose, confection, ethereal, lovely.
