If anything this one is still too young in 2013. Opened an hour before drinking and it was still going strong 3 days later. Gorgeous fruit and enough acidity and tannins to ensure that it continues to develop and improve over the next 2-4 years. Pio Cesare can always be relied on to produce excellent and age-worthy wines, be they Barolos or even the humble Barbera. I believe this one is way above you average, entry-level Barbera d'Alba.

Garnet in appearance with oak dominating over fruit. Some vegetality also present. Elegant with crispy acidity and soft tannins. A well made not entry level Barbera to be enjoyed now.

Dark ruby. Expressive and attractive nose of black cherry, spice, sweet spice (cinnamon and nutmeg) and noticeable sweet oak. Medium-bodied with freshness, soft tannins, high acidity and a med+ aftertaste. Very enjoyable wine overall.
