Chambolle Musigny "Northside" 1er Cru Dinner (Boka - Chicago IL): Tasted single blind. Sweet ed and black cherry combine nicely with good really elegant floral notes on the nose. Same fruit profile on palate, showing some lush ripeness. Moderate length and finesse, this wine is entering its drinking window now. No need to hurry to drink up, but probably not getting much better.

Liex-dits-cru Chambolle 'Northern' 1ers (Boka): Full pink/red color. Big bright slightly warm nose of red and black cherry with violet notes. Silky big tight black cherry and spice with a firm structure - focused. Young.

Open directly from the bottle. It display a light red color. The nose is full of red fruits, earth and hint of greenness. The palate is light but very full end with sour cherries and licorice. It's a good wine. Only thing I can fault this wine is the short finished. But it does showed that a maker like Mugnier can really made fabulous wine even in very weak vintage like 00. Wonderful.

Mugnier Tasting at World of Pinot Noir (Shell Beach, CA): Lunch after Mugnier tasting. My favorite of the three vintages of Fuees served. Ripe red cherry on both the nose and palate. Nicely floral - perhaps even showing a bit of lavender. Little bit of pepper and clove but even more dried thyme. At a really good place right now.

Earthy. Balanced acid. Soft red fruits. Quite enjoyable.
