Full garnet color; classic nose of middle aged red burg with soil-inflected dark red fruit and shoe polish richness. Plenty of the characteristic Drouhin acidity adding length and indicating this has a long life ahead. 91+

Slightly hazy, borderline cloudy. Possibly unfiltered. A developing nose. More wood and oak than fruits. Quite balanced and probably at its peak now. Always a pleasure to drink mature burgundy, and this was just so easy to drink. Very smooth. Served by SH

A wine that opened rather tight with iodine and some VA. Over 30 minutes, this blew off and by the time we finished, lucious fruit and suave tannins were prevelant. This was an elegant wine I will enjoy down the road; many years of life left. It would have benefited from a vigorous decanting.

Wide, super acidity, background tannin and a wave of mid-palate intensity. Slowly fading flavours finish a very interesting wine. Far from ‘easy’ or ‘open for business’ but this is a nice glass today, and should end up being very super…
