Pop and pour - diam. Quite autumnal, decent acid to keep it fresh, stemmy influence but not too much and a touch of grip on the finish. Don’t think it has much longer before it slips on the downward slope but this is a very nice aged Pinot. Diam does well here.

Under cork. Compared with my previous notes, this bottle (properly cellared) is much more advanced and secondary. Deep, dark colour. Aromas of damp earth, black berries and other dark fruit, soy, porcini and a touch of road tar. Similar on palate, ripe but evolving dark fruit. Real Martinborough signature, evident blackberry and bramble. Good structure and acidity. Leather, tobacco, peaty dark soil and mushroom. I'd look to consume in the next five years or so.

bottle perfectly cellared since release. Nose and taste of brown sugar, some sour cherry, cola, a bit of leather. Rather too short, simple and much too sweet. Probably would have been better a couple of years ago, but cannot imagine it was ever a decent wine.

Slight bricking at the rim, earthy mushroom & savoury flavours, drying tannins & a long finish
