Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club": Pinot Noir; Cote d´Or (@ BD): Beautiful and deep bouquet with some stable smells, earth, red berries and herbs. On the palate juicy red berries, earth, herbs and spices, some autumn forest, good acidity and still slightly drying tannin. Complex wine with a good length.

Dark berries, cherries, thyme, and a hint of underwood on the nose. Great acidity and fine tannins adding structure on the palate, along with flavors of dark cherries and strawberries. Long finish. Wow, what a wine! This is how Pinot should taste like. Although drinking really well right now, I’m sure this could age for decades. 95+

Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind 2010 (Chicago IL): Tasted double blind. Very clearly Burgundy, knowing it was 2010, I immediately thought this a top Gevrey 1er. Black fruit with roasted meat and savory spice, yet bright and texturally elegant. I was so surprised to see the wine once unveiled, but was told Chevillon 2010s have been consistently this great.
