  • Opened this bottle with no decanting as it surely was approaching the end of its life.
    It turned out to be the correct decision. The wine was still showing very well, but was probably 3-5 years past its peak.
    The color was still nice showing only moderate amber along the edge. The aromatics were complex and attractive with all of the elements we look for in aged Burgundy.
    The tannins were very soft, confirming the beginning of the decline. Nice, rich mouthfeel, classic NSG with a long, earthy and spicy finish. Very enjoyable...
