  • Medium to deep purplish ruby. Almost opaque.

More oak presence. Scents of licorice, clove spice, violet, and bay leaf. Ripe and powerful fruit of black currant and a touch of plum. Strong salinity and slightly grippy tannin. A lot potentials for herbal, floral, earthy, savory nuances if one looks underneath the massive structure. But, right now, the powerful fruit, acidity, and tannin somewhat overwhelms everything else.

Medium plus body. Medium plus to high acidity. Medium tannin and strong salinity.

Ripe and big bodied. Formidably structured. I suspect that it is starting to shut down. I expect a very long cellaring.

  • Needed a couple hours of air to come around. Nose of vanilla and dark cherry, palate was earth, dark fruits and baking spice. Was very nice but will no doubt be much better with more age.
